MMS’s Financial Services Group is a key part of the firm’s Corporate Department and operates out of the firm’s London and Edinburgh offices. In recent years, our Financial Services practice has grown rapidly, both organically and as a result of the 2004 merger of its London operations with the niche financial services practice of the City Law Partnership.

The work of the Financial Services Group ranges from mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and other transactional activity for financial services clients through to technical advice on financial services regulatory and compliance issues. Our clients include banks, life and general insurers, fund managers, brokers, custodians and depositaries, third party service providers and a wide range of listed and unlisted closed-end and open-ended investment funds, both onshore and offshore.

We work closely with our subsidiary, MMS Regulatory Solutions, which provides regulatory and compliance consultancy services to the sector, including a significant number of leading hedge funds. Our clients come from a number of financial services sectors including banking, insurance, securities, investment trusts, asset management and private equity.  Our spectrum of work ranges from mergers and acquisitions work through to compliance and regulatory support.   We provide transactional and advisory services to banks, insurance companies, fund managers, custodians, brokers, other financial institutions and both open-ended and closed end funds (retail, institutional, private equity and hedge funds).
