SFE strengthens board with two new appointments

Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), the independent body for Scotland’s financial services industry, has further strengthened its board of directors with two appointments. Hywel Ball, Ernst & Young’s Managing Partner for Scotland, and Adrian Grace, Managing Director of Bank of Scotland’s Corporate Division, join the board which now comprises ten senior figures from across the industry.

Hywel has more than 25 years’ experience with Ernst & Young and has previously worked in the firms financial services teams in London and New York. Adrian joined the Bank of Scotland earlier this year, having spent three years as Chief Executive of the Insurance Division of Barclays. Meanwhile Eric Gunn, Divisional Director of Clydesdale Bank, has recently decided to step down from the board due to increasing work commitments following his role change with Clydesdale Bank at the beginning of the year.

John Campbell, SFE Chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Hywel and Adrian to the SFE Board. They both bring valuable knowledge and experience which will further assist SFE as we work to strengthen Scotland’s position as a leading international centre of expertise in financial services.”

Hywel Ball added:  “I’m pleased to have joined the SFE Board and am looking forward to contributing to the ongoing success story that is Scotland’s financial services industry.”

Adrian Grace said “I relish the opportunity to be a part of the work that SFE is carrying out to promote the industry and lobby for improvements to the business environment.”

The SFE Board comprises members which span the various sectors of the financial services industry in Scotland, including: banks and building societies; general insurance, life assurance and pensions; investment management; asset servicing; corporate finance and broking; and professional advisors.
