SFE annouces departure of Chief Executive

It is with regret that Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) announces the resignation of Chief Executive, Andrew Silverman due to unforeseen ill health with effect from 31 July 2007. SFE wishes Mr Silverman well for the future and will now begin the search for a new Chief Executive.

The Board of SFE has reappointed Odgers Ray & Berndtson to conduct the search for a new Chief Executive and has put contingency arrangements in place to ensure the organisation’s work is taken forward in the weeks ahead.

Gordon Arthur, a member of the SFE Board and former Director of Corporate Affairs at Standard Life, will act as interim Chief Executive on a part-time basis and the Chairman and other Board members will take on certain responsibilities and engagements as required.

SFE has an important programme of work to pursue on behalf of its members for the rest of the year and the Board believes these arrangements will allow that work to be effectively delivered.

John Campbell, SFE’s Chairman said:  “The Board is disappointed with this turn of events, but is committed to appointing a new Chief Executive of the highest calibre at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime I believe the interim arrangement we have put in place will ensure that SFE’s momentum is maintained in the months ahead.”
